PHOTO ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT - Hustlers is actually based on Roselyn Nkeo real life story!

Roselyn Keo was born and raised in a small county 20 mins away from Manhattan. Not coming from much she worked hard to support herself. She attended college at Berkeley in NYC. From slinging plates at a local diner to swinging on the poles in the Big Apple, she got into dancing at 17 years old. She eventually learned the art of hustling from a young age and through all her life experiences. Rosie always dreamed big, constantly wanting better.

At the age of 27, when the game had changed, she changed the game; which landed her behind bars. This might have been a blessing in disguise, which she would not realize until later. She has learned many life lessons, the hard way. With every curve ball thrown at her, she always remained true to herself, remaining undefeated. She learned the power of resilience, leadership and importance of family. Being an amazing mother to her daughter has been the most important job she has ever taken on. Maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle while being a stay at home mom has been so rewarding to her and her family.

After years of hiding from her past, she discovered that a movie inspired by her life story was in the making. Instead of having Hollywood narrate their version of who she really was, she decided to take charge and tell her version of what really happened.

Hustlers is a 2019 American crime drama film written and directed by Lorene Scafaria, based on New York magazine's 2015 article "The Hustlers at Scores" by Jessica Pressler.[5] The film stars Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo, and Cardi B. The plot follows a crew of strippers in New York City who begin to steal money by drugging stock traders and CEOs who visit their club. Lopez is also a producer on the film through Nuyorican Productions, alongside Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Adam McKay through their Gloria Sanchez banner.

First announced in February 2016, the film was originally set to be financed and distributed by Annapurna Pictures. However, following the company's financial issues, they dropped the rights in October 2018. After STX Entertainment picked them up, much of the cast joined that fall through the following spring, and filming took place in New York City from March to May 2019.

Hustlers had its world premiere on September 7, 2019, at the Toronto International Film Festival, and was theatrically released in the United States on September 13, 2019, by STXfilms. The film has grossed $72 million worldwide and received positive reviews from critics, with Lopez's performance singled out for praise.

Casting FACTS

In August 2018, it was announced that Jennifer Lopez would star in the film, with Lorene Scafaria directing from a screenplay she wrote. In October 2018, it was announced Annapurna had dropped the film, with STX Entertainment acquiring distribution rights to the film and Constance Wu joining the cast.

Annapurna allegedly dropped the film due to budget concerns. In March 2019, Cardi B, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, and Mercedes Ruehl joined the cast with Mette Towley and Trace Lysette in negotiations to join as well. That same month, Madeline Brewer and Frank Whaley joined the cast of the film. Lizzo joined the cast of the film in April 2019, and Usher joined the cast in May.

As of September 22, 2019, Hustlers has grossed $62.6 million in the United States and Canada, and $9.8 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $72.4 million.

In the United States and Canada, the film was released alongside The Goldfinch, and was projected to gross $25–30 million from 3,250 theaters in its opening weekend. The film made $13.1 million on its first day, including $2.5 million in Thursday night previews.

It was the biggest single day gross in STX Entertainment's history. The film went on to debut to $33.2 million, finishing second behind holdover It Chapter Two; the opening marked the most successful in STX's history and of Jennifer Lopez's live-action career.

In February 2019, Lopez announced that she will be embarking on her first concert tour in nearly seven years to celebrate her upcoming 50th birthday. Titled It's My Party, the international tour ran from June to August, grossing an estimated $54.7 million from thirty-eight shows. In March, alongside her fiancé Alex Rodriguez, Lopez launched a collection of sunglasses with the brand Quay Australia.

The following month, she premiered the single "Medicine" featuring French Montana, her first release through L.A. Reid's Hitco Entertainment label. Lopez next starred in the film Hustlers (2019), for which she also served as an executive producer. Directed by Lorene Scafaria, the film is inspired by a New York article by Jessica Pressler entitled "The Hustlers at Scores", following a group of Manhattan strippers who con wealthy men. Lopez's work in Hustlers, in which she plays a veteran stripper, garnered acclaim from critics, with some deeming it the best performance of her acting career.

The film also gave her the highest opening weekend of her career at the box office for a live action film, grossing $33.2 million. The success of Hustlers has been regarded by various media outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter and The Washington Post as a comeback for Lopez.

Lopez is attached to star as drug lord Griselda Blanco in The Godmother for STX Entertainment, which will focus on the "rise and fall" of Blanco. She will also serve as an executive producer for the film, which is currently in development.[188] As an executive producer, Lopez is also developing an untitled legal drama for CBS and futuristic drama series entitled C.R.I.S.P.R. for NBC.
