HUDSON & REX is about a detective and his former-K9 unit dog working together solving crimes in St. John’s, NFLD (which is also where they film). Diesel's handler/trainer Sherri Davis i is the dog trainer for the show for Diesel.
The first episode is The Hunt. Rex proves himself as a member of the Major Crimes team when he tails a kidnapper. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking as Charlie and the team realize the abduction is part of an elaborate plan.
Detective Charlie Hudson (John Reardon), a cunning Major Crimes detective for the St. John’s Police Department, teams up with an unusual partner – Rex (Diesel von Burgimwald), a former-K9 German Shepherd, whose heightened senses keep Charlie hot on the trail of his suspects. Together, they investigate puzzling crimes, from a kidnapping which reveals a much larger conspiracy at play to an art theft murder which runs deep into the world of high society. With Charlie’s deft detective work and Rex’s keen canine senses, this crime-fighting pair is unstoppable.
Hudson & Rex is a lighthearted police procedural starring John Reardon (Van Helsing), Mayko Nguyen (Killjoys), Kevin Hanchard (Orphan Black), and Justin Kelly (Wynonna Earp).
JOHN REARDON
John Reardon was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He began his time in the spotlight as an all-star football player at Mount Allison University. It wasn’t long before Reardonʼs classic good looks and athletic build caught Hollywood’s attention.
Reardonʼs first break came in 2001 when he was cast in an episode of the Showtime series The Chris Isaak Show. A slew of recurring roles followed as Reardon was cast on the FOX Family Channel series Edgemont, FOXʼs Tru Calling, Syfyʼs Eureka, Showtimeʼs The L Word, CWʼs Hellcats and Bravo’s Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce.
Leading roles include the feature Make it Happen, the miniseries’ Merlinʼs Apprentice as well as Son of the Dragon, which filmed in China. Fan favourite roles include his supporting roles in the Wayansʼ brothers hit White Chicks and slasher comedy Scary Movie 4 and with his role in the blockbuster film Tron: Legacy.
Reardon played the role of Blake Laviolette for the three seasons of Arctic Air on CBC. He also shot on three seasons of the Showcase sci-fi thriller series Continuum. Recurring roles include theseries Van Helsing, The Killing and Painkiller Jane. Reardon played the lead role on Love on the Sidelines, where his football background comes into play (no pun intended).
With classical training at RADA, he did a number of plays on their main stage, including Hamlet.
Reardon lives with his wife and son in Los Angeles.
