March 12th was a fun day for Calgary Women! Canadian Star Jillian Harris was the Celebrity guest at the Wine, Women & Well-Being event.

She is the Founder and Creative Director of Jillian Harris Design, and she is passionate about love, family, charity, fashion, food, decor and much more. This @winewomenwellbeing event was the night before things really went sideways. For our area anyways. I remember the Uber drive home and seeing the alerts, messages, etc coming in and thinking ok wow this really is happening... or is it just the wine?
However, that night was so uplifting and amazing and I think it was exactly what some of us needed before this big obstacle began.

Our amazing night included music by Alex Hughes, cupcakes by Crave Cupcakes, snacks to go with our wine, swag, and ALL kinds of fun!

Lisa: Let me tell you a little story about the power of community and supporting the women in your life. 18 yrs ago Melissa Pasutto became my mentor and has waved her pom poms in my direction since Day 1. Over in Kelowna, Jillian Harris was falling head over heels for Melissa’s son.

Meanwhile in Alberta, I was starting WWW and these two lovely sisters, Laura and Lana, have a t-shirt company ‘Woman Up’ in Edmonton and thought the message would resonate with me so sent me some merchandise which I basically live in.

The Woman Up sisters begin to fiercely support our Edmonton branch in whatever way they can. Our Edmonton branch director decides she needs to move home to Finland this Spring and we organize for the Woman Up sisters to take over the branch. They come to Calgary to meet IRL and Melissa gets out her cheerleader outfit and tells them to run to their hotel and grab some Woman Up gear for Jill. 24 hours later, Jillian Harris is drinking wine in their shirt with no pants, wearing only their Woman Up shirt. The orders instantly start coming in and their business just went next level.

Moral of the story: You never know where connections will lead. Be kind. Help where you can. And support your sisters. A rising tide lifts all boats.
