Season 3 of BURDEN OF TRUTH picks up one year later. Joanna Chang (Kristin Kreuk) and Billy Crawford (Peter Mooney) are working together in their new boutique law firm, Crawford Chang, but they’re discovering that living and litigating together has its challenges.
On a cathartic trip back to Millwood for a class reunion, an old friend, Kodie, turns Joanna’s life upside down when her children are removed by Millwood Family Services. Kodie believes she is the victim of a conspiracy and pleads for Joanna to help solve the case and bring her children back. To help her friend, Joanna must dig into the dark underbelly of Millwood to unearth evidence of a cluster of child apprehensions.
Joanna will take on an impossible-to-win case that will force her to confront a long-buried secret from her childhood that may threaten her relationship and partnership with Billy. After this case, nothing will be the same again.

Kristin Kreuk
Born and raised in Vancouver BC, Kristin broke out in the title role of the television movie Snow White for ABC, opposite Miranda Richardson. Not long after, she landed the lead role of ‘Lana Lang’ on the hit WB series Smallville. A longstanding Neutrogena beauty contract followed, and her long relationship with The CW led to her starring and producing four seasons of Beauty & The Beast. She is the star and executive producer on two seasons of BURDEN OF TRUTH a legal drama for the CBC and The CW in the US.
Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney is a talented actor and screenwriter. A cast regular on Rookie Blue for three seasons, he also starred in the Starz TV series Camelot and has made recent guest appearances on Heroes Reborn, Republic of Doyle, Heartland, Beauty and the Beast, Played and CSI: Miami. He was featured in The Tower and Zos – Zone of Security and starred on Falcon Beach for two seasons.
Peter co-produced and starred in the independent film We Were Wolves, which premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Recent film credits include the independent films Blowback, Paseo, Keely & Du and Must Kill Karl.
An accomplished screenwriter, his short film Parachute premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, while his first short, Method, directed by Rookie Blue co-star Gregory Smith, screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013. Peter currently has a number of projects in active development.
Peter has headlined several live productions in his home town at Manitoba Theatre Centre, including After Miss Julie, Jitters, Pride and Prejudice, Our Town, and The Tempest. Other theatre credits include Tales From Ovid (Centaur Theatre) and the Canadian premiere of The Goat or Who is Sylvia? (Great Canadian Theatre Company). Most recently, he appeared in Gruesome Playground Injuries (Birdland Theatre) in Toronto.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba Peter Mooney is a graduate of the prestigious National Theatre School of Canada. He splits his time between Los Angeles and Toronto.
