There was photo and autograph opportunities as well as some fantastic Q&A’s in the Victoria Conference Centre Theatre. We flew in some talented creator guests like Larry Hama, Brett Breeding, Mark Bellomo and Bob McLeod just to name a few. There was also cosplay guests like Knightmage, Linzorz and Katy DeCobray. The panel rooms had some fantastic panels to see and we also had some fun Nerdlesque (nerdy burlesque) on Friday night (tickets available separately on Ticket Rocket’s website). There were two separate venues of exhibitors and attractions like The Ghostbusters of BC, the 501st Legion Outer Rim Garrison, medieval LARPing, different types of gaming and more. Carson Hall in the VCC features Artist Alley and all the creator and cosplay guests. Nerd City Tattoo tattooed all weekend with nerdy flash tattoos. Sunday there was a Cosplay Contest day and there is plenty more to see and do all weekend at the convention. We even had our own limited edition LEGO exclusive mascots: ConZilla and VentionBot.

I’m sure organizing an event of this scale is no easy task…what is the hardest part about pulling it all together?

We are fortunate to have a fantastic team of people putting this event together. Destination Greater Victoria, The Downtown Business Association and The National Toy Museum of Canada with Cherry Bomb Toys.  We rely on teamwork and good communication and all have a passion for Victoria, the downtown core and the pop culture community. The hardest part is us having to work all weekend because there are so many great things to see and do.

What is the most rewarding part from putting on this comic con?

The most rewarding part of putting on a convention is seeing the memories created by the attendees. Friendships are formed, community support happens and the smiles on people’s faces fuel all our hard work and determination.

I’m sure there are a lot…but what is the top thing you are looked forward to the most about this year’s event?

Our favorite part that we are looked forward to with this year’s convention is meeting new people and growing something this fun in Victoria. Also we love all the cosplay and love seeing everyone’s costumes all weekend.

What is the #1 tip you can give to someone attending for the first time?

The number #1 tip for first time convention attendees would be to have fun and grab an event guide. We have event guides available around the convention and they have a lot of information inside with what is happening around the conventions as well as maps and schedules. Our volunteers are always happy to help and there are also Info booths in both venues for those in need.

As FP Jones his character has been through a lot of inspiring changes, from a Serpent King to construction worker to a Pops Waiter to Sheriff!

“But I could punch keyes in a booth at Pops, every night and never come up with a story as remarkable as yours. You've gone from the wrong side of the tracks to the right side of the law. From Serpent King to Sheriff of Riverdale!” - CW’s Jughead Jones quote.

"Skeet" Ulrich is an American actor. He is best known for his roles in popular 1990s films, as Billy Loomis in Scream and Chris Hooker in The Craft. Since 2017, he has starred as FP Jones on The CW's Riverdale. His other television roles include Paul Callan in the short-lived ABC drama Miracles, Johnston Jacob "Jake" Green, Jr. in the television series Jericho, and L.A.P.D. Detective Rex Winters, a former Marine from the Law & Order franchise.

Born and raised in Virginia, Skeet was discovered in a stage production at New York University by David Mamet. Skeet worked as an apprentice to the legendary writer/director at the acclaimed Atlantic Theater Company, performing in several the company's productions, including Reckless and Hedda Gabler.  Ulrich's transition from stage to screen came courtesy of director, Stacey Cochran, who cast him in the CBS Schoolbreak Special, Same Difference. She would later cast him her feature film debut, Boys opposite Winona Ryder, Lukas Haas, and John C. Riley. Around this time, Skeet also found success acting in the cult teen classic The Craft and the Bruce Beresford film Last Dance starring Sharon Stone.

Skeet Ulrich currently stars as F.P. Jones - the past leader of the Southside Serpents now Sheriff and Jughead’s Father, in the hit CW series Riverdale, which is based on Archie Comics.
